A school field trip becomes, almost by chance, the setting for an animal birth. A group of young children in Early Childhood Education witnesses the delivery of an antelope and, with it, the wonder of life beginning. What they experienced turns into quiet attention, questions, play, and conversations that last. This heartfelt account preserves the memory of a teacher who, in remembering, reaffirms the beauty and educational power of the unexpected.
