The Renaissance led to changes in the way people understood the process of translation. In the Spanish Empire of Charles v, Spanish started to replace Latin and the translation of Italian poetry — notably Petrarch — into Spanish led to the blossoming of Petrarchism in Spanish literature. Hernando Hoze’s translation of the Triumphi played a particularly important role both in propagating Petrarchism in the peninsula and in contributing to changes in the translation process.Downloads
