Abstract

Hermeneutic approach to illustration analysis by comparing encyclopedic prints from Diderot illustrated Encyclopedia and Adventure Series by Tracey Mo at. In order to emphasize the inventory aspect of Mo at’s photographic work, we developed an analysis based on three determi- ning aspects: the formal structure –the vignette structure– of the aforementioned works, the feeling of appropriation by the authors, and the works narrative and evocative functions.
