Abstract

Marcello Piacentini, prolific architect-town planner, was a contribution very important in the dif fusion of the urban and architectural theories about historical cities, in the italian´s architectural restauration context, where was undoubtedly the existent duality between Gustavo Giovannoni and Marcello Piacentini. Our protagonist eveloped his activity as public designer, municipal builder also of researching a lot of scientific publications. His active services in the guidance activities of Roma during the fascist management were decisive to consolidate his prestige position in the government.
