Abstract

From their release in Italy (1850), the stamps and, particularly, the history of the Philately and Mail Service, have been constantly related to the historical and politial events of this country, being contemporary a product, a result and a reflection of themselves. In this case, in fact, it will be very important to know all the events of the history most obscure and the most radical that Italy had ever known, in order to understand the importance of the stamps and of every message contained in them.
