Abstract

The electrical lighting arrived to Málaga at the end of the 19th century, with the technological limítation factors of those days: the proximity between the production and consumer centres. In this article, it is analysed the two dealer companies introduction in Málaga, the building of the building factories and the troubles and distrust that o its precense generated between the population. In an special way, it is studied the business evolution of the "Fábrica de los lngleses", which took lo the expansion of the building factory by the engineer Juan Brotons (which is the one that, rehabilitated, it lasts nowadays), and which performance it has been unknown until the present day.
