Abstract

In contrast to the architectural project or theory of a technical nature,
this study focuses on the field of literary description, more or less imaginary and not academic. Since the architecture that appears in literature is rather immaterial and vague, colour is presented to us as a necessary testimony to the creative capacity of the human being beyond the pre-established canons. Regarding this subject, the coloured or colouristic architecture that we find in artistic literature could be interpreted as a subversive element, clearly alternative to the immediate reality, althougth on some occasions it also involves a well-founded expression of frustrated wishes.
