Abstract

The paintings of the "Ghiara's" 11 old jeweler's & watchmaker's represent the only traces of the pictorial decoration in the 19th century premises in Málaga, a really widespread practice at the end of the century. They are two canvas stuck up on the ceiling which can be attributed to the local painter José Ponce, and that offer a double interest formal and iconographical.
