Abstract

The group of works signed by Luis Salvador Carmona, kept in several
churches in Estepa (Seville), show the excellont artistic qualification of one of the most eminent Spanish sculptors in the middle of XVIII century. The sculptures studied in the present article compose an aesthetic corpus begun by Carmona into tradition of Baroque Castilian and Andalusian Sculpture and improved after with several plastic traits inspired by Art of the European Courts, French and Italians above all, and rococo splendour, culminating near to neoclassical language at last.
