We met Ángel I. Pérez at the end of 1983 when he arrived at the University of Malaga as a professor of Didactics and School Organization. We soon understood his scientific and personal value from his responsibilities as advisor to the Ministry of Education on issues such as experimentation with educational reform and teacher training and, shortly after, from the confluence with mutual friends, united by the idea of ??transforming education defending a comprehensive, open, democratic and socially committed school.
