The article addresses the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a pedagogical partner in higher education, highlighting its influence on transforming teaching and learning processes in the Digital Era. AI is presented as a powerful tool that states challenges and opportunities for teaching professionals, who must explore its pedagogical potential in instructional planning, assessment, and adapting learning to students' needs. The importance of aligning this implementation with ethical principles and specific educational objectives is emphasized. Through specific sections, the article analyzes the generalities of AI in education, the concept of a pedagogical peer, the role of AI as an ally of teaching professionals, and the benefits it brings to methodological design in university educational contexts. It emphasizes how AI can improve the effectiveness and adaptability of learning experiences, promoting a more personalized and enriched educational process. However, it underscores the need to maintain a balance between AI and human connection in education, recognizing that technology complements but does not replace the essence of the educational process centered on human relationships and holistic growth.
