The objective of this work is to reconstruct the research-oriented training processes that are expressed during the university degree within the framework of a teaching team. Methodologically we assume the study of cases, reconstructed through documentary analysis, in-depth interviews and class observations. In this sense, two teaching teams with teaching and research functions of the Biological Sciences career are presented, belonging to two subdisciplines: Biology of Arthropods and Paleontology. The results contribute to the identification of an elective territory during university degree training, which we call: Research initiation classroom, an area in which students are gradually introduced into the real praxis of science in the company of a team with functions in teaching and research. One aspect to highlight is the leading position of the student since he assumes as a producer of disciplinary knowledge.
